Why Nothing Interrupts You Anymore

Numbness did not spread because people became weak. It spread because it worked.

Across medicine, technology, work, politics, and belonging, modern life offers countless ways to soften discomfort while quietly diminishing our capacity to feel, judge, and act.

NUMB traces this condition beyond individual psychology. It asks what happens when relief becomes infrastructure, distraction becomes identity, and systems learn to profit from detachment.
